The things you love aren't gonna be the things they love
The things you love aren't even goinna be the things they think about
The things you love aren't gonna be the things they love
The things you love aren't gonna be the things they even care about
The times they are changing much more than with Bob Dylan
It's much more than nostalgia
The people are gonna sit around and meld with technology
They're gonna leave their bodies behind

Daytime (Everyday)

Where is the sun?
Where is everyone?
They're supposed to be close to me
but I don't feel anything
Where are my old emotions?
They feel different somehow
Maybe I'm just stuck in time
Things are different now
Why can't I find the sun to tell me it's daytime?
Why can't I find any indication at all?
The technology gets smart
but the people get dumb
It's only a matter of time
before the robot kingdom
Is it coming soon?
Or is it here right now?
I don't know what to do
if things don't change somehow
Why can't I find the sun to tell me it's daytime?
Why can't I find any indication at all?

Debord Shot Himself

I've got ideas
Ideas too big for one person
so instead of following through
I just add to the noise of this modern generation
It's gotten so loud that you can't even hear it
Like when you ignore a sound cause you can't turn it off
It's gotten so loud that you can't even hear it
Like when you ignore a sound cause you can't stand it
The noise of society
The capitalist's machines
that no one complains about anymore
The capitalist's machines
that cause all the dreams we dream
That same damn dream
we don't even know why we want it
but it seems so easy
and you know you were meant for it

Fly high you arial photographers
everything looks so much different from the sky

I have a tiny little bonsai
he's not much more than a little twig
But in twenty some odd years
unlike most of my peers
I'll have a little tree that sits in my room
I have a tiny little bonsai
It is important to me
Well I can't control nature
but I can get close to her
by shaping and watering my tree
Who will water my bonsai when the singularity comes?
Who will water my bonsai when humans gain hyper intelligence?
Who will water my bonsai when the singularity comes?
Who will water my bonsai when I'm gone?
People are connecting with computers
closer than they've ever been before
Right now they're just friends with humans
but machines are gaining intelligence
and people might want to be friends with them too
Then people might want to leave their bodies
enter the virtual world completely
They will be immortal
it doesn't sound too horrible
Don't think I'm a luddite when I ask
Who will water my bonsai when this happens?
Will it die instead of living after me?
I saw a bonsai that was almost 500 years old
Much older than any human being
Who will water my bonsai when this happens?
They have to be cared for like most anything
Who will make sure my bonsai is treated kindly?
If I selfishly leave this mortal realm

Monolith
02:05
|

I live in a young world
on an old planet
I see technology
always getting better
I live in a young world
on an old planet
I wish that aliens
would just give us a monolith
So I could stop beating
on drums with bones
I could be left alone
I live in a virtual world
on a real life planet
I don't know what I want
just know I can't stand it
Live in a virtual world
with virtual whores
If I didn't have a right hand
I wouldn't understand it
Just scratch my head
waiting for a monolith

Computer Nightmare

You can't even tell what's real anymore
Spent hours last night talking to a fake person
Communicating with software
You're getting better at chess
You're getting better at trivia
You've gotta admit
things are getting better all the time
Nobody has all those old problems

Society Of Capitalists
02:01
|
|
||
Everyone can do it
You can too!
But if you want fame
A name well that's something else
Sensibilities are endless
Endlessly recycled
Endlessly imitated
Endlessly confused for originality
Everyone can do it
It doesn't take much
It won't cost a thing
But the rules have changed
The sounds are analyzed
from computer minds
with blog ideas
and ears for production
They call it a business
Is there any art in business?
Does art even exist
in the society of capitalists?
They call it a business
The music business
Can art even exist
in the society of capitalists?
